New Delhi: Indian steel firms have asked the government to curb imports after overseas purchases rose 50 per cent to about 3 million tonnes between April and September, the Economic Times reported on Tuesday.

Domestic steel makers feel threatened by China, Thailand and Ukraine which were allegedly dumping cheap steel in India, the paper said, quoting an unidentified official of a steel firm.
